Pray For Our Student Ministry Leaders • Leader Retreat: August 2nd-5th

Our Student Ministry leaders will be taking their annual retreat up to Big Bear to reflect, fellowship, and grow together in Christlikeness. Please pray that God will continue to encourage and strengthen them while they are discipling our students. Stay up to date with Student Ministries by signing up for our newsletter here. Student Ministry Back to School Bash • August 13th, 6:30-8PM • South MPR

Attention all middle school and high school students: come celebrate the end of Summer with us by enjoying pizza, games, and a powdered paint war! Remember to wear a white t-shirt for the paint war if you would like to participate. This event will take place during the normal Impact meeting time (6:30-8PM) on Tuesday, August 13th in Jack’s Shoes (South MPR). The Rock (High School) will not be meeting the following day, August 14th. Can’t wait to see you there!

Monthly Elder Prayer Night • August 13th, 7:00PM • MPR

If you are struggling with illness or feel disheartened, overwhelmed, etc., we invite you to join the elders from 7:00-8:00 PM in the MPR so that they can pray over you. If you cannot make it in person, you can submit a prayer request online. We would love to pray for you! Submit a prayer request here.

Spiritual Habits & Disciplines • August 17th, 9:00-11:00 AM • South MPR

The main focus of our Spiritual Habits class is to present one discipline from Scripture each month and provide you the opportunity to learn and grow in that discipline with others. This month, join us on August 17th in the South MPR (Jack’s Shoes) to learn about memorizing scripture. Click here to register.

Member Dinner • August 18th, 5:00-7:00 PM

Our member dinners provide time to build relationships with each other by sharing a meal, taking communion, giving church updates, and celebrating all that the Lord has done and is doing in the life of our church.

Life Workshop - Last Things • August 25th, 1:00-3:00PM • South MPR

This workshop explores eschatology, otherwise known as “last things” or “end times”. This will be a group discussion wherein we will 1.) define eschatology and provide some historical and contemporary cultural context; 2.) explore what the Bible says about the “end times” (including the Book of Revelation); 3.) compare the prevalent views of eschatology; 4.) identify the primary takeaways including hope and unity. There will be plenty of time for questions and answers.

Grief Share • Begins August 29th • Thursdays at 6:30PM • South MPR

Help us welcome back Grief Share! If you or someone you know has been walking through the hardship of grief from the loss of a loved one, join us as we look to the comfort of God’s word to find peace and healing on the journey. For more information contact the church office at 805.581.9532

Bible Study Groups - Fall 2024

Beginning in early September, Cornerstone will be reintroducing several different Bible study groups throughout the week to support fellowship and learning about God’s Word. Each group will have a specific focus such as reading various books of Scripture, learning how to study the Bible, and practicing spiritual habits. Gatherings

Monthly Elder Prayer Night (every second Tuesday): If you are struggling with illness or feel disheartened, overwhelmed, etc., — we invite you to join the elders so they can pray over you.

Quarterly Member Dinners: Our quarterly all-member dinners provide time to build relationships with each other by sharing a meal, taking the Lord’s Supper, giving church updates, and celebrating what the Lord has done and is doing in the life of Cornerstone. Learn more about membership here.

Cornerstone Community Groups: We have several community groups that gather each week. If you’re interested in joining a group, see our community page for more information. We’d love to connect with you and get you plugged in!

Student Ministries: Impact (Middle School) meets weekly on Tuesday nights, and The Rock (High School) meets weekly on Wednesday nights. Visit our student ministries and events pages for more information on time and location!

Embracing the Journey for Widows: Embracing the Journey is a fellowship group for widows embracing the journey of widowhood. This group gathers once a month for encouragement, support, social activities, and bible studies. For more details, please call (805) 581-9532

Overcomer’s Outreach: (Mondays in the South MPR from 6:30-7:30 PM) “Set Free” Overcomers Outreach Meeting is a Christian 12-Step Support Group for Alcoholics and Addicts discovering freedom from active addiction through the power of Jesus Christ using God’s authoritative Word.
