Welcome!
If you’re new here to Cornerstone or if you’re longing to know who Jesus is, and what he has done, and is doing in our lives, we would love to connect with you. And if you need a Bible, please feel free to ask any of our ushers or head over to the information table in the main lobby.
You can also fill out our online connect card and we’ll do our best to get in touch with you as soon as possible!
Today ➔
We have had such an incredible week of VBS so far, and today we’re excited for you to join us for the VBS Grand Finale service! *This is a service for all ages as there will be no Sunday School in Children’s Ministry this Sunday.
After church, we would also love for you to join us in the main parking lot for our All-Church BBQ/Party (from 11:15 am - 1:15 pm). There will be food, an ice cream bar, games, a rock wall, petting zoo, photo booth, face painting, a craft station, and more!
Most importantly, we ask that you continue to pray for all of the children participating in VBS this year – that they would come to know Jesus and experience true redemption and freedom through his death and resurrection.
We look forward to fellowshipping with you and celebrating all the Lord has done and is doing through VBS and at Cornerstone!
SERMON NOTES & Community Group Questions ➔
Thomas Scherer, Student Ministries Director | “The Beloved Son”
Synopsis: Joseph was the beloved son who was rejected and wrongfully treated by his brothers. But what they intended for evil, God intended for good. Through God’s gracious providence he raised up Joseph to be the second most powerful person in all the land of Egypt. When famine struck the land, Joseph’s brothers came to Egypt looking for food. What they found was the brother they had sold into slavery was now lifted up to be second in command to Pharaoh. Joseph not only forgives his brothers, he calls for them to live with him in Egypt and promises to provide for them and their families. While the story of Joseph is in itself amazing, it was only meant to be a small story pointing to the greatest story of Jesus.
Jesus was the beloved son of God sent into the world in order that he might become the savior of the world. He was the beloved son who was rejected and ultimately crucified by the ones he came to save. But what they meant for evil, God meant for good. It was through the death and resurrection of this beloved son, Jesus, that God has made a way for us to become sons and daughters of God.
