Today ➔
Good morning! We’re so glad you’ve joined us for worship today, whether it be in-person or online. Today, Todd is continuing our series through the book of 1 Thessalonians (you can find sermon notes & questions below).
Tonight is our second Core 4 Intro Class! Christian will be walking us through the Biblical Story: the overarching storyline (or metanarrative) of the Bible, and how it addresses the essential questions that every person and culture seeks to answer. Join us from 6:30 - 8:30 PM in the Main Sanctuary, or online if you are unable to make it in person. The class recording will be available later on our Core 4 page.
*Class registration & information can be found below. Registration is not required to attend, but helps give us a good idea of how many people to expect.

sermon notes & questions:
“Faithfulness: Boldness Redefined, Pt 3” | Todd Nighswonger, Elder & Lead Pastor
Synopsis: Two weeks ago, Christian unpacked the idea of Paul’s boldness from 1 Thessalonians 2:1-12. Specifically, that his boldness looked like a nursing mom and a dad with his kids. Last week, Todd clarified from 1 Thessalonians 2:13-16 that biblical boldness is Spirit-inspired hope that fuels courage, rightly tempered by weakness. From 1 Thessalonians 2:17-3:13 this week, another component of boldness was added: love. Specifically, true biblical boldness is always lovingly guided towards God and people. If any of those three components of boldness are missing, it is not boldness like Christ’s.
Questions:
In the last three weeks, when discussing boldness in 1 Thessalonians 2-3, the idea of family, as an identity, was very important. As a group, because this is true, are you looking more and more like family? Explain. How are you being “family-bold” toward one another like Paul modeled to the Thessalonians?
As a group, think about the key components of boldness: hope, weakness, and love. What would it look like devoid of hope? Weakness? Love? It might help to think of examples from your own life or of people you’ve witnessed that lack hope, weakness, or love in their supposed boldness. Spend time talking about what each component brings to boldness.
